Juniper Hills Country Club is as much a tennis club as it is a golf club as it boasts several indoor and outdoor courts and embraces the two sports that so many people love. The parkland style golf course is relatively short by today's standards but delivers a challenge with several hazards throughout the track, including the Portneuf River. The Takeaway Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, Kona Country Club has reemerged on Hawaii's golf scene by breathing life back into the old school William Bell layout. It's about as classic of a layout as can be found on the Big Island with tree lined fairways and back-to-front sloping greens. The views of the ocean are plentiful but the green fee is steep. For most visitors to SA looking to play golf the default locations are Cape Town and the Western Cape where courses such as Fancourt and Arabella are well established destinations. However as I found on this trip it’s worth looking further afield. We visited the Natal Dolphin Coast, just east of Durban and stayed in Ballito Bay, playing at Zimbali Golf and Country Club. The resort not only hosts a golf club and spa but also a 5*Fairmount hotel.
