This was one of those rounds of golf that went by in the blink of an eye.
Probably the best day of the year weather wise on the Ayrshire coast, 20 degrees and only a light (10 mph) breeze off the sea, we played at 3pm when the course was relatively quiet. I had been looking for a game at Western Gailes for some time and when the invite finally came from an old work colleague and member I jumped at the chance to make the 90 min drive from Edinburgh.
I had been advised to wear Jacket and Tie so was slightly perplexed when entering the members bar to see a mixture of dress code, some with J&T but many with golf... click to read more
