KARL F. GROHS

Karl has 30 years of experience in golf course design and architecture. His main focus lies on a systematic approach of planning, combining environmental, technical and aesthetic aspects.

Karl is co-founder of 'Deutsche Golf Consult' (DGC, 1978-2004), originator of more than 130 golf course concepts and more than 50 realised courses. Many of his projects have received international awards or won design competitions. He gained an excellent reputation for designing prestigious golf courses such as TPC ' Course Gut Kaden, Hamburg (27), GC Bitburg (18); innovative redesign of traditional courses as GC Baden-Baden (107 yrs.), GC Luebeck-Travemuende (88 yrs.), Gutach-Guetermann (92 yrs.), Mannheim-Viernheim (76 yrs.); town-courses as GC Castrop-Rauxel (27), GC Mülheim/Ruhr (18) as well as 3 of Germany's 'Leading Golf Courses' GC Konstanz (18), GC Bad Neuenahr (18), GC Wuerzburg (18).

Golf courses created by Karl meet the highest requirements on sports and design while integrated into scenic cultural landscapes. The philosophy of his work is portrayed exclusively in the 100-year jubilee edition 2007 of the German golf association (DGV). Karl is also author of various fundamental specialist books and articles about golf course planning in German language.
