Tim's passion for golf began at the age of 10 when he followed his father to the local golf course for his first experience with the game that would come to dominate his life. This passion never ceased and it lead him to pursue his career in golf course design.

Subsequently, Tim completed a B.Sc. in Horticulture at Melbourne University in Australia in 1993, focusing on turf and golf course management then, in 1995, began working with with golf course architect Ted Parslow as a design associate. Based in both the Australian and Malaysian offices Tim quickly gained experience in all facets of golf course and resort development and the value of accepting, respecting and appreciating the local culture and landscape.

In 1998, he joined the London-based practice of European Golf Design. In his six years with EGD, he was responsible for designing internationally recognisable golf resort developments in Ireland, Turkey, Finland, Portugal, Spain, Russia, Bulgaria, England, Wales, St Kitts & Nevis and the Czech Republic.

From 2004-2016, Tim was principal architect and managing director of Thomson Perrett & Lobb in Surrey, UK, the golf course design firm founded by five times Open Champion Peter Thomson. During this time the firm designed new golfing facilities in Europe, the Middle East and in more recent times Africa. Additionally the company became responsible for the renovation/ restoration of historically important golf courses such as St Georges Hill GC, The Berkshire GC, Woking GC, Wimbledon Park GC, The Richmond GC, Burhill GC, Royal Jersey GC and in more recent times the complete modernisation of The Buckinghamshire GC.

In 2016, following the retirement of Peter Thomson and with his encouragement, Tim formed LOBB + PARTNERS to service ongoing Thomson Perrett & Lobb projects as well as gaining future golf course design commissions.

Tim brings a professional and creative approach to the design process and maintains a 'hands on' presence during the construction phase. By working this way, he helps to ensure a 'right first time' approach to construction.

He is Vice President of the European Institute of Golf Course Architect and a member of the Society of Australian Golf Course Architects.
