Santo Estêvão is a town and also a Portuguese parish in the municipality of Benavente, with an area of ââ62.41 km² and 1,997 inhabitants (2011). Its population density is 32 inhab / km².
Santo Estêvão, Santo Estêvão da Ribeira or still, Santo Estêvão da Ribeira de Canha village, names for which he was known, defines an urban nucleus whose oldest reference dates from the 14th century. Integrated, in the so-called Alentejo region of the Municipality of Benavente , the heath is located on the right bank of the River Almansor or Ribeira de Santo Estêvão. Comprises land cultivation and pasture. The natural implantation conditions currently favor agro-tourism development.
