Lower Saxony Course - the challenge
In November 2001, the internationally recognized Canadian architect David John Krause broke ground for another 18-hole course at the Hardenberg GolfResort. Since June 6, 2003, the first nine holes of the new championship course of international standard have been playable - a fascinating golfing experience and a challenge for beginners and professionals. The second and last nine holes of the Niedersachsen Course were officially opened at the beginning of June 2004. The highlight of the Niedersachsen Course is the heraldic animal of the Counts of Hardenberg - the boar''s head as a par 3 island green. The attractiveness and challenge of the course are presented by the many natural obstacles. Among other things, a dry biotope, a canyon that you otherwise only see in Arizona, orchards, old trees and much more. The lush green of the lawn retains its dark green color thanks to a special lawn seed that is currently only used by six golf clubs in Germany. The tracks are designed very creatively and offer an attractive dramaturgy.
Göttingen Course - the classic
The course, which today covers 68 hectares, was built in two sections: In 1971 Donald Harradine developed what is now the back nine. He largely adapted the fairways to the terrain. In 1987 the German architect Dr. Wolfgang Siegmann from Hanover finished the second nine holes. Here, too, hardly any major earth movements were necessary, but over the course of time countless trees were planted in order to redesign the formerly extensive agricultural area. The course is very diverse and very sporty. Above all, it requires stamina, because over a total length of 6,033 meters it goes steadily up and downhill. The fairways are mostly wide and characterized by lush trees.
