Bandon Golf Club is located one and half miles from Bandon town in County Cork, Ireland. The town of Bandon is the area known as West Cork and the town is locally referred to as the “Gateway to West Cork”.

Set on the southern valley slopes of the Bandon River the course is a challenging parkland lay out. Constituted from the lands of the Castle Bernard estate, the course meanders around the old grounds and the ruins of Castle Bernard form a spectacular backdrop to a number of the holes.

With a par of seventy-one, made up of two par fives, thirteen par fours and three par threes, the course includes enough variety and challenge to keep all golfers entertained. Holes are protected by bunkers, water and the occasional well placed tree (Though “well placed” is not how some of the members describe them!). If this were not enough to keep you alert, out of bounds comes in to play on twelve tees. Despite all these challenges visitors to the course invariably go away with memories of having thoroughly enjoyed their golf and the surroundings.

The course boasts a wonderful variety of wildlife and is noted by the Golf Ecology unit as the course with the greatest number of wildlife species in Ireland. So, should the golf not be going according to plan, take the time to look around. The sight of a red squirrel scurrying around should take your mind off that last three putt.

Bandon Golf Club was founded in 1909 and the members love their golf. A vibrant and social club you are sure of a warm welcome. Be warned though, they are a competitive bunch and even “casual golf” can result in a wager, if only to decide who buys the coffee.

We invite you to come visit us at any time and look forward to your company.
