In the early 1950s, Yoji Tomosue, then governor of Ibaraki Prefecture, was enthusiastic about how to revitalize the scenic Oarai, known for its Isobushi, outside of summer.

The pine forest around the golf course is a public land in Ibaraki Prefecture and Oarai Town. However, during the turmoil during and after the war, neither the prefecture nor the town could afford to maintain this area, and it became an indispensable source of fuel for the lives of local residents, and it was all-you-can-eat.

Mr. Tomosue, who was a member of the Kasumigaseki Country Club, finally recovered from the turmoil after the war and noticed that the number of golf enthusiasts has gradually increased. That idea was the catalyst for the birth of the Oarai Golf Club.

Immediately, we obtained the consent of the mayor, members of the town, and influential people, and in terms of funding, Mr. Tomosue himself took the lead and visited Hitachi and people from the prefecture who are active in the central business world, and energetically I asked for cooperation and went around.

On the other hand, the course was created by consulting with Mr. Kinya Fujita, the founder of Kasumigaseki CC and an authority on course design at that time. Mr. Tomosue was introduced to Mr. Seiichi Inoue, who was said to be one of Mr. Fujita''s arms at that time, and the exchange between the two began here.
