Parkstone is a beautiful and mature heathland course standings of mature pines, a wide variety of wildlife together with stunning panoramic views over Poole Harbour to Brownsea Island and the coastal downs of the Isle of Purbeck. Set within a few minutes drive from the vibrant towns and beaches of Poole and Bournemouth, Parkstone Golf Club strives to offer the highest quality in both golf and hospitality.

In 2020 Grant Peters and the whole greenkeeping team at Parkstone were awarded the prestigious Championship Greenkeeping Performance of the Year prize from BIGGA in recognition of hosting the European Ladies Amateur Championships in 2019.

The original course was designed in 1909 by the celebrated Scottish golfer, Willie Park Jnr. Willie jnr won the Open in 1887 and 1889 before becoming one of the early golf course architects. Since then many famous architects have made changes over the years, from James Braid to Donald Steel and most recently, Martin Hawtree.

During the 1920s a further 63 acres of land was purchased (now forming holes 8 to 11) and in March 1932, James Braid was employed to design the new holes. Six new ones were created, four significantly changed and eight remained much the same.

In 1996, when the course was made a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) by English Nature (now Natural England) with a requirement to return the course to open heathland. Orignally thought of as a negative, this change is now recognised as being a thoroughly good thing for Parkstone. SSSI status became the catalyst to help return the course to its heathland heritage. Many of the glorious views across the course, with its beautiful undulations, have returned.
