Golf Club Schönborn Castle

Whoever comes to Schönborn to play golf wants to experience Austrian history and tradition at the highest level.

The castle was built between 1712 - 1717 by architect Lukas von Hildebrand as a summer residence for Friedrich Karl von Schönborn and now houses the restaurant and the clubhouse. The 104 hectares of superb park land were converted, in 1989, into a perfect Golf Complex, which sport with the extraordinary experience of nature and history.

The Schönborn landscape has been elegantly incorporated into the layout of the golfcourse. Two thirds of the 27 Hole Championship Course are located within the Castle walls and can compete with best courese in Europe and the USA. Internationally acclaimed as one of the Finest Golf Courses of the World. In 2009 Austrian Golfers voted Schönborn the best Course in Austria, for the fifth time.
