Golf de Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche

Inaugurated in 1959, the Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche golf course is a private golf course with two 18-hole courses, the club house has been set up in a magnificent 18th century farmhouse, a royal outbuilding of the Château de Versailles.

The Golf of Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche is reserved for its members, their families and their guests.

At the very beginning of its existence, it already hosted the World Championship in 1963, then, for 34 years, the Lancôme Trophy, a major event on the European circuit in which the best players in the world took part. This has largely contributed to its notoriety and the quality of its courses.

The architect Fred HAWTREE designed the two courses of Saint-Nom in the tradition of the great Anglo-Saxon golf courses. Like the great architects, he was able to create a layout in perfect harmony with the plain of Versailles. During these 60 years, the two courses have benefited from the various tournaments that have taken place, which has allowed a permanent upgrade to the standards of the European Tour and in particular in 2022 with the organization of the WATC Amateur World Championships on the red route.
