Designed by American golf architect Robert Trent Jones Senior, Troia Golf was named by Golf World magazine the 17th best golf course in Continental Europe, making it the 2017 list of “Top 100 Golf Resorts in Continental Europe”.

Having established itself further among Europe''s elite golf courses, it has risen by nine places to number eight in the ranking of Golf World''s 100 Best Golf Courses in Continental Europe 2019. Robert Trent Jones Senior''s dazzling links have soared to the top ten in Europe, as golfers and industry experts finally rightly recognize one of Portugal''s best kept secrets. Assessed in six different categories - design quality, configuration, gameplay, presentation, memorability and consistency of the hole - Troia scored an impressive 82.9 out of 100 possible, with the magazine''s judging panel scoring the field on all criteria. Troia''s new ranking puts it in the top two in Portugal.
