Golf Del Sur Golf Club

The GOLF DEL SUR course in Tenerife, inaugurated in 1987, with a professional tournament, has since been the scene of several competitions of the highest international level.

Currently the course has 18 competition-level holes, which offer the player the opportunity to enjoy a challenging game while enjoying incredible views.
In 1999 Golf del Sur was also the scene of two world long drive records, both achieved by the British Karl Woodward. First, he set a new record by landing a 398-yard hit and a few months later he managed to break the 400-yard barrier with a 408-yard hit.

Golf del Sur, designed by Pepe Gancedo, was initially remodeled in 2005 by Manuel Piñero. The course offers an attractive and fun layout in which its volcanic sand bunkers, its generously sized greens, the wide fairways, and the difficulty of the two lakes that affect holes 3, 4 and 5 of the Links course are striking.

The hole 3, par 5 of 480 meters, of the North course, stands out for its difficulty, its wide fairway is flanked on the right by an impressive ocher rock ravine, on the left by wide sandy rough and the entrance to the green requires a stroke of great precision to save the bunkers that surround it. In the Links course, hole 5, par 4 with 330 meters, stands out as its tee is located on top of a mountain with spectacular views of the Ocean; Difficulty: out of bounds very close to the fairway and hazard on both sides.

The wide streets are surrounded by a great variety of native flora and constitute an authentic oasis of 800,000m2 next to the Atlantic Ocean. Palm trees and giant cacti line the field, to which special attention is paid to the conservation of its flora and fauna. Golf del Sur is one of the courses in Spain certified by TÜV in the ISO 14001 Environment and GOLF DE LA BIOSFERA standards.

Golf del sur has among its services Golf School, Practice Range, Tennis, Miniature Golf, Bar-Restaurant, Buggy Bar, Putting and Chipping green, Pro-shop and changing rooms.
